Thank you for a fantastic magazine and now website. Both are stylishly designed and hugely interesting to anyone with even a slight interest in the area.

I look forward to the 2012 edition. I do hope there will be one?

Thanks for posting this. This is really a great walk. The views are amazing and the monestary is beautiful. There is mountain water on the way up when you get to the pine forest. Feel free to light the candle at the brown shrine when you start your hike.
Also just walking around Milea in very interesting.

I deleted the message board as it got badly spammed. Instead, each page now has its own comment form. The photo gallery exists though http://www.insidemani.gr/category/photo-library/

Oh, I see you found it!

There are bee orchids in the woods here- very difficult to precisely identify though. I've added a couple to the gallery- can anyone identify them exactly?
I've also put on a giant orchid for good measure

Looking good Matt!! You mention above "keep in touch from near or afar through the message board, the latest news section and the photo gallery" ....... are those bits still to come or am I going blind in my age old? Probably the latter!!

Excellent article describing the 'drive over the top' and I agree the views are breath-taking. You do have to know the road after Saidona is a forest track as far as the monastry; its condition is dependent on how damaging the winter rains have been. In June 2011 when I travelled the road in 4 x 4 the road was terribly rutted and I met a bulldozer creating a new level surface - it needed it in many places. The previous year the road surface was good and a car would have had no trouble.
