Areopolis lies on a plateau above sea level. There are a number of nearby beaches within driving distance.
The sweeping bay of Neo Oitylo is stunning when viewed from above. The narrow beach is made up of pebbles and coarse sand and sometimes has a problem with litter. There are a number of water-edge taverna and cafes.
Limeni is a small bay at the far end of the bay of Oitylo. There is no beach but at the southern end there are steps down into the amazing turquoise water. There are a few tavernas, specialising in fresh fish.
The pebblt beach is the other side of a small headland from the caves of Pirgos Dirou. As there no tavernas and little shade, it does not get very crowded and is therefore popular with camper vans.
The tiny cove at Mezapos is really off the beaten track. A few tavernas can be found in the main part of the village. The Tigani headland forms a dramatic backdrop.
